top 3 reason the unabomber is woke af.
It all begins with an idea, an idea towards progress.
Picture this! Imagine, A world where your dependence of 1 tool dictates the, economic, social, and ethic boundaries of human society. Now go look outside, you’ll see your dreams come true. Many of these ideas of a tech run world are validated by many. In a world where technology is often equated with progress, it’s eOne man in particular has gained a following due to their words holding value years later. A prediction of the hell bound trajectory of a society based on the involvement of tech and dehumanization. The Unabomber is a now becoming a fan favorite amongst anti-tech activist. Some of the songs we listen to now track along :
Song: “Computer Love” – Zapp & Roger
Lyrics: https://genius.com/Zapp-and-roger-computer-love-lyrics
This song explores the idea of seeking emotional connection through technology. While the tone is romantic and smooth, it subtly reflects a world where technology mediates even the most intimate human experiences.
Song: “Paper Planes” – M.I.A.
Lyrics: https://genius.com/Mia-paper-planes-lyrics
“All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!) / And (KKKAAAA CHING!) / And take your money.”
Let's be honest, gun violence and capitalism is the picture painted for the USA right now. These lyrics only perpetuate a negative story.
Now we combine the latest hit reflecting the manifesto of a mass bomber with tech conglomerates increasing the wage gap at an astronomical rate due to the addiction to control and information. You will be presented with a pill that is hard to swallow.
Unabomber
1. He Predicted Tech Would Erode Human Autonomy
In his manifesto, Kaczynski warned that advanced technology would eventually strip people of their freedom and self-determination. not only has it stripped
2. He Called Out the “System” as a Trap
The Unabomber argued that the technological-industrial system doesn’t serve people, it abuses them. In "They Don’t Care About Us," Michael Jackson echoes a similar frustration with power systems that dehumanize and ignore unheard voices. Kaczynski saw this decades ago, framing tech as something that doesn't free the masses it controls them.
3.He Knew That “Progress” Had a Dark Side
Kaczynski challenged the belief that all technological progress equals improvement. Many use the word progress with delusion or deceit. The oversimplification of our attempts at perceived evolution is done so with the intent of desensitizing the masses to the moves of those in power. Imagine if everyone knew about the repercussions of evolution. The side effects explained at the end of a nation announcement read off like the side effects of a new medication you heard about between episodes of The George Lopez Show at 2 A.M., on your grandmas couch who’ve you been staying with for the summer.
As we step close and closer to a world of digital dominance we need to look at the root of our decision to change and explore branches of destruction that may ensue. There isn’t an answer for everything since most are doing the best they can, or the most they can with what little time we have on earth. Many of those in position don’t care if the title they hold took lives in the process. It’s more important to them if their name is remember in the end.
EVERYONE MEET, Progression..
It all begins with an idea, an idea towards progress.
With much sarcasm and layered emotional confusion I introduce to you, Progression! Progression is like Plankton from SpongeBob. Constantly chasing an idea of grandeur, throughout the chase, creating one innovation, after the next. Regardless of the collateral.
Often you will see new things presented and pitched with such vigor and excitement as if they not only benefit the people who made it but also benefit you, regardless if you purchase it. This is what progress can do, it can involve you into it’s party uninvited. How does this sound:
Tired of chaos? Wish your team could work in perfect harmony? Say hello to the Bucket—your all-in-one solution for clarity, coordination, and collective purpose!
On the surface you are intrigued due to the idea that this helping people be more efficient. In actuality I just introduced the mind control buckets devised by Plankton from the SpongeBob movie.
Plankton fits best because just like in the show, no matter how much wrong the inventions do no one shuts down the establishment. When we google “Progress” you are met with photos of upward trending charts, arrows going to the sky, positive aspects only. We don’t look at how the process of tech and industry advancement has damaged people and earth. When we present the idea of progress we should follow it with the questions, “at what cost?” We have made progress in tech by leveraging A.I. into the creative space. Progress has been made but at what cost? Following the increase in A.I. usage, there is an increase in studio disputes, strikes, and protest against it.
The cost of A.I. script writing progress are the jobs, time, and money of major companies over the course of 2 years and counting. Now progress above all is an opportunity to learn. Many people think of A.I. in similar to the way people felt during the internet boom. Rudolf Carnap and Carl Gustav Hempel compiled the theories in “ the Received view” giving incite to the other side of popular thinking. Same with Andrew Keen he says in an interview. “We have to understand that we are at the same moment, that history is repeating itself.” Understanding our role in the progress of our planets evolution is something we can do when looking objectively or historically. So look at progress like Plankton some good, some bad.
