EVERYONE MEET, Progression..
With much sarcasm and layered emotional confusion I introduce to you, Progression! Progression is like Plankton from SpongeBob. Constantly chasing an idea of grandeur, throughout the chase, creating one innovation, after the next. Regardless of the collateral.
Often you will see new things presented and pitched with such vigor and excitement as if they not only benefit the people who made it but also benefit you, regardless if you purchase it. This is what progress can do, it can involve you into it’s party uninvited. How does this sound:
Tired of chaos? Wish your team could work in perfect harmony? Say hello to the Bucket—your all-in-one solution for clarity, coordination, and collective purpose!
On the surface you are intrigued due to the idea that this helping people be more efficient. In actuality I just introduced the mind control buckets devised by Plankton from the SpongeBob movie.
Plankton fits best because just like in the show, no matter how much wrong the inventions do no one shuts down the establishment. When we google “Progress” you are met with photos of upward trending charts, arrows going to the sky, positive aspects only. We don’t look at how the process of tech and industry advancement has damaged people and earth. When we present the idea of progress we should follow it with the questions, “at what cost?” We have made progress in tech by leveraging A.I. into the creative space. Progress has been made but at what cost? Following the increase in A.I. usage, there is an increase in studio disputes, strikes, and protest against it.
The cost of A.I. script writing progress are the jobs, time, and money of major companies over the course of 2 years and counting. Now progress above all is an opportunity to learn. Many people think of A.I. in similar to the way people felt during the internet boom. Rudolf Carnap and Carl Gustav Hempel compiled the theories in “ the Received view” giving incite to the other side of popular thinking. Same with Andrew Keen he says in an interview. “We have to understand that we are at the same moment, that history is repeating itself.” Understanding our role in the progress of our planets evolution is something we can do when looking objectively or historically. So look at progress like Plankton some good, some bad.
